Printing onto wood using our Dry Rub Off Transfer Paper

We’ll show you how to print any picture, text or your own design directly onto any flat wooden surface using our latest product, Dry Rub Off Decal Film.
Picture frames, decorative boxes, little tables, guitars and wooden egg cups are just a handful of items that we’ve seen transformed with dry rub decal paper – what will you personalise?
Make a start by deciding on which wooden object you are looking to customise and ensure that it is flat, clean and ready to print on.
For our tutorial, I shall be decorating the wooden picture frame that you can see above with pink, white and red-rose decals. I’m looking to create a hand painted effect.
1: Start off with 1 sheet of A4 dry rub off decal paper. Each sheet automatically comes with 1 sheet of decal film and one sheet of adhesive film. The decal film has one side shiny, one side matt.
2: Have your picture or design on your PC, ready to print out and load the decal film sheet into your printer so that the print goes onto the matt side.
3: Cut a section out of the adhesive sheet equal to the size of your decal prints. Now take the adhesive sheet and peel off it’s backing and apply the sticky side directly onto your prints and rub together with the rubbing stick provided in your pack.
4: Cut your decals out. Use scissors and a craft knife to cut close to your decals, leaving only the smallest amount of border.
5: Peel away the adhesive sheet and apply your decal, sticky side down, onto the wood.
6: Rub your decal print evenly into the wood for 30 seconds and leave for 3 minutes.
7: Your decal film has a top coat which you now need to separate from the finished print. A craft knife makes this easy.
Finished Your picture is now embedded into the wood. If printing text, remember to print the text in mirror image mode.
